RTSO PRESIDENT NAMED 2016 MOODY ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR
1976 Graduate Dr. Don Sweeting
 
Dr. Don Sweeting, president of the RTS Orlando campus, was named the 2016 Alumnus of the Year by Moody's Alumni Association.
The award was announced at The Moody Church during the February 2 evening session of Moody's Founder's Week conference. The award honors a graduate who has "demonstrated loyalty to the kingdom of Christ through honorable character, ardent service and accountability to the Word of God."

We are pleased to announce Campus Preview Days on several of our campuses during this Spring Term. Preview days provide an opportunity for prospective students to sit in on classes, hear more about the admissions process, meet the faculty and staff, and to explore the surrounding areas that are unique to each campus.

NEW BOOK BY RTS FACULTY
In his new book, "Apologetics: A Justification of Christian Belief", renowned theologian John Frame sheds light on the message and method of genuinely Christian apologetics.

This is an extensively redeveloped and expanded version of his previous work, Apologetics to the Glory of God.  John Frame is the J.D. Trimble Professor of Systematic Theology and Philosophy at RTSO. You can order the book here.
 
CONFERENCES AROUND THE COUNTRY
RTS will have a booth at each of these upcoming conferences.  If you are able to attend make sure to come by, say hello, and update us on what you are doing.  We would love to see you!

Ligonier National Conference - Feb 25-27 in Orlando, FL
Come and enjoy a time of fellowship, worship, prayer, and study as we consider the historical fact and transforming power of the gospel.  R.C. Sproul will reveal the Ligonier Statement on Christology at this conference and is joined by several wonderful speakers.
Clarus Conference- Mar 4-6 in Albuquerque, NM
This year's conference is intended to help inform a framework for a theologically thoughtful, political and cultural engagement.  Across three days they will address topics including: gender, race, marriage, abortion, conscience, religious liberty and the role of politics.
Shepherd's Conference - Mar 9-11 in Sun Valley, CA
This conference provides the opportunity for men in church leadership to be challenged in their commitment to biblical ministry and to become more effective servants of our chief Shepherd. Our Chancellor, Ligon Duncan will be one of the Keynote Speakers.
 
EMERITUS BOARD MEMBER PASSES AWAY
One of the original board members of RTS, Sidney Robinson of Jackson, MS, went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2016.  Sidney was born in 1922 in Jackson, MS. He was a ruling elder of First Presbyterian Church in Jackson and will be greatly missed. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marion Howard Robinson. He is survived by his 3 children, and was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. You can read his full obituary here.
 
 
Curtis Shields (M.Div. '15) 
RTS graduate Curtis and his wife Marisa are serving as missionaries in Southeast Asia. 

They are doing campus ministry and have enjoyed their first month on the mission field.  Keep them in prayer and to learn more click here.
 
David Judge  (M.Div. '15) 
RTS alumnus David Judge is now pastoring First Baptist Church, in Cornelius, NC. David shared a wonderful testimony of a homeless man who had been invited to church.  When he came he asked for a large print Bible and soon after he officially joined the church.  This homeless man now goes to the shelter every week and reads the weekly Bible passage from the Sunday message.
 
Ben Fetterolf (MABS '12) 
RTS Alumnus, Ben Fetterolf is currently serving as Pastor for Member Connection and Care at Hampton Park Baptist Church in Greenville, SC.
 
Eli Lizorkin-Eyzenberg (M.Div. '01) 
RTS alumnus, Eli, has written "The Jewish Gospel of John: Discovering Jesus, King of All Israel"

This book is a  verse-by-verse illustrated rethinking of the fourth gospel.  The author will challenge you to reconsider the Gospel of John.
 
Rich Penix (MABS '14) 
RTS alumnus Rich Penix is serving as an Associate Pastor at Eden Baptist Church near Minneapolis, MN.
 
Jennifer Marshall (MAR '14) 
RTS alumnus Jennifer Marshall is serving as vice president for The Heritage Foundation. Jennifer runs the think tank's Institute for Family, Community and Opportunity.  She oversees research into a variety of issues that determine the strength and character of American Society.
