RTS TRUSTEE GOES HOME TO BE WITH THE LORD
 DON BREAZEALE 1952-2015 
 
Donald Glenn Breazeale, Sr. of Jackson died at home on November 12, 2015.  He went home to be with the Lord after battling cancer for a season.  Don is known for his love of and service to his family, friends and First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, where he served first as a deacon and then as ruling elder.  He cherished his work on the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of Reformed Theological Seminary.  He will be greatly missed.  You can read more here.

TGC INTERVIEW WITH RTS CHANCELLOR
Dr. Ligon Duncan, RTS Chancellor, is interviewed by The Gospel Coalition and shares about his decision to transition from pastoral ministry to chancellor's office.  The whole Reformed tradition, whether Presbyterian, Congregationalist or Baptist, has always valued an educated ministry and, consequently, pastors who are able to read, learn, think, write and teach at the highest level.  The pastor-theologian or pastor-scholar is very much rooted in 500 years of the Reformed tradition. BOOK RELEASE - "SPREADING THE FEAST" BY HOWARD GRIFFITH 
The release date for the new book by Howard Griffith, "Spreading the Feast", is December 11th.  This practical book provides an understanding of the sacrament as well as twenty-eight pastoral meditations that span both the Old and New Testaments.  Spreading the Feast will help students understand the different facets of the Lord's Supper and pastors to form their own words of explanation as they minister at the Table.  You can order your copy here.
 
BOOK RELEASE - "FOR A CONTINUING CHURCH" BY MICHAEL LUCAS 
The release date for the new book by Michael Lucas, "For a Continuing Church", is  December 11th.  This book is a scholarly yet accessible account of the theological and social forces that brought about the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).  Forty years after its founding, the PCA has nearly 400,000 members and is still growing in the United States and internationally.  You can order your copy here

 WIFE OF ALUMNI DR. JACE BROADHURST GOES HOME TO BE WITH THE LORD 

RTSO Alumni, Dr. Jace Broadhurst (M.Div. '99) lost his wife, Jaclynnette to cancer.  Jace has pastored Poolesville Baptist Church in Poolesville, MD since 2006.  They have 3 beautiful sons.  If you are interested in giving towards the many expenses at this time, from funeral arrangements to medical bills, please visit the Go Fund Me site here.

David Sills (Ph.D. '01)  

David serves as A.P. and Faye Stone Professor of Christian Missions and Cultural Anthropology at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  In addition to serving in this capacity, he is also the President of Reaching & Teaching International Ministries.  He has authored several books including "Introduction to Global Missions".  David is actively engaged in global ministry through field work that takes him around the world.
 
Jason Ford (M.A. '11)

During his 5 year pastorate in Buckskin, IN, Jason was, by God's mercy, healed of metastatic cancer. Recently he was installed as senior pastor at St. Paul Evangelical Church in Cibolo, TX (a fast growing suburb of San Antonio). St. Paul Evangelical Church is a member of the Evangelical Association of Reformed and Congregational Churches.
 
David Ritchie (Global) 

David Ritchie, pastor of Redeemer Christian Church in Amarillo, TX and current RTS Global student, is a new columnist for the Faith section of the Amarillo Globe-News. Ritchie intends to communicate an understanding of some of today's most relevant and pressing cultural questions from a deeply rooted, biblical perspective. 
 
Stephen Berry (M.Div. '97)
RTS Alumni, Dr. Stephen Berry investigates what it was like to cross the Atlantic Ocean aboard an 18th-century british ship from a cultural and religious perspective in his first book - "Path in the Mighty Waters: Shipboard Life and Atlantic Crossings to the New World."  Stephen is an associate professor of history at Simmons College.  He enjoys sailing and wrote part of this book at the Munson Institute of Mystic Seaport. Randy Kimbrough (M.Div. '82)
Wendell Kimbrough, son of RTS graduate Randy Kimbrough, and co-writer Bruce Benedict won a psalm writing contest last year with one of their many compositions.  Wendell is an artist in residence at a church in Fairhope, AL writing music to the psalter. He is currently working to produce a new CD of his original psalms to music.  Hear more about or support Wendell's project here.
 
Jon D. Payne (M.A.T.S. '98, D.Min. '04) 

RTS Charlotte graduate Jon D. Payne has spent the past two-and-a-half years planting a biblical and Reformed Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC.  Christ Church Presbyterian is a church committed to expository preaching, reverent worship, serious discipleship, biblical piety and faithful shepherding care.  With the support and prayers of many churches and individuals and 140 current members, they are planning to particularize by the end of Spring 2016.
